We value funeral ministry here at One Parish and see it as an integral part of the ministry and mission of the local church. It’s a vital part of us being your local Church in serving members of our communities at a time of great need and bringing the love and comfort of God to them.
Some people think that if they're not regular church attenders then they’re not able to have a Christian funeral in church. This is not true. Anyone and everyone in England is entitled to have their funeral conducted by a Church of England minister regardless of whether they attended church or not.
We work in close collaboration with families and funeral directors when you are faced with bereavement. Our Vicar, Fr Stuart, or another member of the ministry team liaises with individuals and families to create a service fitting for each person.
At One Parish we also offer those who have been bereaved the opportunity to attend a Memorial service in October of each year. All those who have been bereaved in the past 2 years are invited to attend our annual All Souls memorial service, although anyone is welcome to attend.
We have a fab pastoral team who not only help to get the church ready but will also pray for you as well as check how you are doing after the funeral of your loved one.
