6th February 2017

We have now held our first StopGap Friday and our first StopGap Sunday: Both were well attended with over thirty folk of all ages exploring the GOD THE FATHER. Last Sunday we were presented with some of the many names of God, names from the Hebrew which describe something of the Character  of God. With a gentle mix of traditional hymns and music written this January 2017, there really was something for everyone.
Well it is not too long until we hold our second StopGap Friday, and already we are looking to find out more about God the Son, Jesus. Our Table conversations over another exquistely cooked meal will all be about Jesus. These themes will then be further examined in March at the StopGap Sunday service.
Parish Prayer is still in it's infancy, but already we are drawing in new people to the Church who are coming to pray, this is a very exciting adventure for us, and one where we have the opportunity to pray for others and be prayed for ourselves, as well as to looking at the needs of our Parish, our country, and the world we share.
On a personal note, look out this Saturday for the amazing Steam Engine built just a few years ago called Tornado. She is due to pass through Wellington twice this Saturday 11th Feb, Check out UK Mainline railtours for further information. Last Friday I was delighted to be invited to speak to the Wellington Rotary Association at the Buckatree Hall Hotel, my presentation was called "Railways: A little taster" and included one of my railway folk songs performed on the baritone ukelele. Just saying!
